Another Nayyirah Waheed Poem =)

sometimes

the beauty of my people

is

so

thick and intricate.

i spend days

trying

to undo my eyes

so

i can sleep.

Nayyirah Waheed

It never ceases to amaze me how many beautiful Afrikan people are.

From strong old gogos with all their wrinkles and wisdom to the beautiful ladies who are breaking into their prime (27 – 45 yo, if you ask me). Every single day I see a beautiful Afrikan woman I would risk it all for. Ke lebogela basadi ba ma Afrika ka nnete.

The beauty of our different cultures and practices to the attire, to our languages, to our food, to our rhythm. We are a beautiful people.
